Making Money Online with Adsense Optimization
By this time, you've heard of making money online with Google Adsense. Adsense optimization has made it fairly easy for "Joe six-pack" and "soccer moms" to add an income stream to their website. Sometimes, with proper research and patience, these programs can add a serious income to your average person building a website.
Let's look at the facts: there's thousands of new websites and blogs going live everyday. The people behind these aren't always webmasters.
Google's Ahead of the Game
Google realized how far their reach could stretch with online advertising and before you know it, Adwords was created. With it's unique auction style bidding for keywords, they have changed the world of online advertising.
It's undeniable, Google is absolutely everywhere in this tech-savy world. It's this mindset that has spurred on the two programs above...Adsense and Adwords. First off, let's illustrate what the function is of the two words, and how they fit together.
Advertising 101
Pretend for a minute that you own a building complex right next to a high traffic area in a large city. You're a business savvy individual, so you decide to use billboards on your property to advertise for other businesses.
I bring up this example because I know of this exact situation in a major metropolitan city. This is essentially what Google has done with the internet. The house is your website, the roads are the constant flow of targeted traffic to your website, and Google is the person that wants to use your building as an advertising medium.
Google Adwords Program
Adwords can best be described as Google's cash cow. Here's a the condensed version of how it works. Companies agree to pay Adwords a certain amount of money when Google advertises their particular business, or service. This is done on various topic related websites that have Adsense ads (more on that next). When a visitor to that website clicks on the advertisers sponsored link, that company is charged a particular dollar amount by Google Adwords.
Google Adsense Program
After companies sign up for Adwords, Google advertises the companies link on websites and blogs that are participating in the Google Adsense program. Now pay attention, this is where your "building" comes into play. By using your building (your website) as the base of advertising, Google shares the profits generated by the visitor clicking on the paid link with you. How cool is that?! Google gets paid, and your Adsense revenue grows.
This is why making money with Google Adsense is a primary form of monetization for many webmasters. It's effectiveness, and easy implementation. In a nutshell, this is the Google advertising process (Affiliate Masters Course pg 61).

Your Adsense Optimization
Let's say you have your website, or blog up and running with a decent amount of traffic coming to it. After you sign-up for Adsense, Google gives you a unique code that you add to your page. It's just that easy. Now it's up to you to tweak it and test your hand at Adsense optimization.
With Adsense, you are able to customize many variables that can improve you Click-Through-Rate. Variables like ad placement, color of the ad, and even filter what kind of ads are displayed (Adsense Income Blueprint pg 30).
Things such as eye-tracking tests and color research has given people an advantage when it comes to catching a visitors attention. Site navigation is also an important part of making sure you "get the click." Nobody wants to trip over your ads while trying to read the content on your pages. Ads should be presented in a clear, precise manner so they aren't in the way (The Adsense Report pgs 25-28).
Use these and other Adsense optimization techniques described in the affiliate marketing ebooks to increase your revenue with Google Adsense.
